Bones, a small skeleton on a journey of self-discovery, finds himself in a strange and curious city. To find his way home, he must unravel its secrets, solving puzzles limb by limb to uncover clues and forge new paths.

As he evades the living and carries messages from those who can
no longer speak, Bones seeks to piece together his lost identity.

Bones is a haunting, visually stunning adventure that blends the quirky charm of Harold Halibut with the eerie atmosphere of Little Nightmares and the emotional depth and exploration of Ori and the Blind Forest.
— Amber Stacey

Bones: Wandering Soul is a quirky 2.5D side-scrolling narrative driven adventure/puzzle game that explores themes of loss, self-discovery, feeling like an outsider, friendship, and family through the story of Bones, a character who died in the 1800s and is abruptly awakened in the 1990s when his coffin is dislodged during a cemetery relocation. Struggling to adapt to a world vastly different from the one he knew, where technology, language, and urban landscapes have changed beyond recognition, Bones embarks on an emotional journey to reclaim his resting place.

The game’s unique art style reflects Bones’ peculiar situation, creating a blend of nostalgia and familiarity through its texturing, mixed post-modern, 90s-inspired architecture and engaging storytelling. The game offers a strange yet safe environment for players to connect with Bones on a deeply personal level. Ultimately, Bones: Wandering Soul fosters inclusion and emotional growth, encouraging players to embrace belonging, acceptance, and personal transformation.

Amber is an award-winning stop-motion animator, director, 3D artist, and performer with a critical focus on storytelling and exploring unique methods throughout her creative projects. After spending most of her life performing, directing, and choreographing for theatre, she decided to explore other creative avenues, hoping one day to delve into her love for animation and puppetry. She has spent the last decade working as a Senior Graphic Designer, Multimedia Artist, and Creative Producer across live events, in-house roles, and ad agencies for some of Australia’s biggest brands, while also lecturing in animation, games, and UI/UX design.

Amber completed her Master's in Animation, Game Design, and Interactivity at RMIT University, where she enjoyed combining her passion and skills from theatre with interactive and animated mediums. She has spoken and showcased her work at various festivals, conferences, and events both locally and internationally, including panelist talks at San Diego Comic Con and Melbourne International Games Week. She has been commissioned by Playable City Melbourne and most recently was the recipient of the 2024 British Association for Film, Television and Screen Studies publication award for 'Best Essay by an Undergraduate or Master's Student' at their annual conference held at the University of Sussex, UK.

In 2024, she received Screen Australia's "Emerging Gamemakers Fund" to develop 'Bones: Wandering Soul'.ption

  • Lead Programmer

As a recent game dev graduate from SAE Institute, Melbourne, Kevin is a Melbourne based Junior Games Programmer with 3+ years of experience in game dev in both Unity and Unreal Engine.

Kevin is blessed and excited at the opportunity to kickstart his career in the industry
as the new lead programmer for Studio Tinkerhaus in their current project Bones: Wandering Soul.

With his main inspirations being the Kingdom Hearts series and online multiplayer games such as Warcraft3, DOTA2, CS2 etc, he is looking forward to achieving his goal in the industry by leaving his mark whether it be through programming game mechanics or creating compelling game worlds.

When not on the computer developing games, he is still on the computer playing games. Other hobbies include playing basketball, graphic design and video editing.

  • Lead Level Designer / VFX

Lachlan is a junior level designer, game designer, and 3-D generalist who loves telling stories through games. A recent graduate from SAE University College with his Bachelor of Game Development and Design, he is eager to make his mark within the industry.

  • 3D Animator

Yee Hui is an award-winning filmmaker, stop-motion and 3D animator. She enjoys bringing joy to her audiences by engaging them in her imaginative worlds through her films. While designing the different shots of her film, she loves to explore creative ways to make it more fun and interesting. Her short films ‘Of Coconuts and Flowers’ (2020) and ‘Who Killed Cock Robin?’ (2022) have won awards and been screened in multiple countries.  After graduating from RMIT, she decided to help out Amber with her film ’Stan and Sven’ (2022). Stop-motion is a different animation form than 3D and manoeuvring puppets in real life is a lot of unexpected fun for her. The film has a successful run in film festivals with the biggest hit being the screening at San Diego Comic Con.

Yee Hui also works in the game industry. She is currently working on three projects: ‘Trash’ by Bin Chicken Studios, ‘Call of the Golden Valley’ by O’Saurus Studios, and ‘Bones: Wandering Soul’ by Studio Tinkerhaus. Up until now, a couple of her projects have been exhibited at ACMI WIP night, PAX and GCAP local lounge. It is very inspiring for her to observe the audience when they are playing the game as she will then be able to take in those feedback and further improve her work.

Yee Hui also occasionally ventures into the projection mapping realm. Her first project ‘The Sea’ (2017) was created during her degree time in the University of Kent, UK. It was selected to participate in The Waves Exhibition held by the EDA school of the University of Kent and the ADM school of Nanyang Technological University. Her second project ‘Welcome to the Isle of Design’ (2021) has won her The Best Animation award at The Isle of Design, an international projection mapping competition. She loves exploring storytelling on big canvases and hopes to tinker with it more in the future.

All in all, Yee Hui is a creative person who just loves storytelling and she can’t wait to bring your story to life.

    for their upcoming game Mixtape.

He builds and maintains his own Maya-based rigging framework, which he uses in his freelance work.

  • Narrative Design / Writer

This story was adapted into a stop-motion animation short film in collaboration with Amber Stacey and Yee Hui Wong, and it is now being developed into a children’s storybook. A noteworthy accomplishment was securing an invitation to speak at the esteemed San Diego Comic-Con International as a professional artist for the San Diego International Children’s Film Festival, alongside the director Amber. The animated adaptation garnered remarkable success, achieving acclaim both locally and internationally, with accolades for both the animation and storyline. Across nearly 30 film festival selections and awards, the animation has traveled around the world, reaching esteemed festivals and locations such as the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York, the Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival, Children’s Film Festival Seattle, Atlanta Children’s Film Festival, San Diego International Children’s Film Festival, and Animovies at the Festival of Animated Objects. One notable highlight, including a screening at a family event on the outside of a grain elevator in Canada before the screening of The NeverEnding Story.

Denise is also the writer and illustrator of the published novelty book Sultan T. Sloth: One Sloth’s Journey Through COVID-19, her debut story which was a lighthearted reflection on the COVID-19 pandemic. She helped workshop the narrative design for Bones: Wandering Soul in the early stages of conceptual development, a project she is excited to see becoming a reality and help develop further.

Denise is eager to share the book of ‘Stan and Sven: A Plan to Help Stan’ with everyone soon and is hard at work planning her new and upcoming projects, including a stop-motion web series that is in the early pre-production stages.
